BiographyWith a love of nature and broad-ranging metaphysical beliefs, Maggie Oster has spent a lifetime studying and interpreting gardens and gardening. She has a bachelor of science degree from Purdue University and a master of science degree from Cornell University, both in horticulture. Her writing and photography have encompassed a wide range of topics, culminating in eighteen books, including Reflections of the Spirit: Japanese Gardens in America. She has contributed to books, written newspaper and magazine articles, appeared on television, and served as a regional editor for the website of the National Gardening Association. Many of her books and articles feature her own photography.

Oster maintains the family farm, including extensive food and ornamental gardens, in Indiana. She also operates a bed-and-breakfast (www.rosewindfarmbandb.com) in a cottage on the farm. www.rosewindfarm.com
